Question: What is the key difference between QA and QC and what is the future of QA?
Answer 1: Quality pioneers are divided on this one. Many believe QA and QC cannot be separated and thus, the same. however, QA provides confidences that the product or service satisfy quality requirements. While, QC focuses on the conformance of quality requirement by the product or service. (Author: Abdulaziz Farhan From: Quora)
Answer 2: QC is when you control the product(quality) while QA is when you control the PROCESS. When you focus on the product (quality) control, you essentially want to check whether the product, which has been manufactured, meets specifications. If not, all your effort(put into manufacturing) comes to naught. While when you focus on QA, you are controlling manufacturing errors(usually called ‘defects’ in quality parlance) before they go into the product. So essentially when you move from product control to process control you are moving from QC to QA.
If you are asking in terms of job or career, yes, there is a lot of scope. QAs are much in demand. The flip side, however, is that engineering guys look down upon QA(or QC) guys as troublemakers.

Answer 3: QA is process orientated and is focused on the prevention of defects and poor quality. A company documents the process by measuring production and activities as whole to improve the development of a finished product.
QC is product orientated and is focused on the prevention of defects and poor quality in a finished product. Defects are not documented throughout the process instead they are corrected. (Author:Suzie Fakhri, Director From: Quora)
