3. General Procedure
- Confirm applied product standards: Please contact Sunchine Inspection to confirm the relevant PS number (for example, the standard for household washing machines is PS: IEC: 60456).
- Submit application documents: Submit an application form and technical documents (such as RFC form, PL&CI, instructions, test reports, etc.) to Sunchine Inspection.
- Product Testing (if applicable): Conduct tests in an accredited laboratory to ensure the product complies with the standards.
- Issue Certificates: After the inspection, testing and document review are successful, Sunchine Inspection will issue PSI inspection report, PSIC certificate and COC certificate.
- Market Supervision: After obtaining the certification, you need to undergo annual or random inspections. Products that do not meet the requirements may face seizure, fines or be prohibited from sale.
4. Special Notes
- Early Communication with the Importer: Proactively engage and coordinate with the importer at an early stage to confirm the most up-to-date regulatory requirements set forth by Pakistan’s local authorities. This helps prevent shipment delays and avoid unnecessary costs arising from policy updates.
- Advance Preparation: The certification process typically takes 1–3 weeks. If the product has not previously undergone third-party testing, sample testing will also be required. Accordingly, sufficient lead time must be allocated during planning to ensure timely delivery.
- Product Label Compliance: All photovoltaic product labels must be clear, accurate, and fully compliant with Pakistan’s market-specific labeling requirements.
