Background of GCC-Gmark Certification
GCC certification refers to a series of certification systems established and implemented by the Gulf Cooperation Council countries. This certification aims to ensure that products sold in the markets of GCC member states (Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman and Yemen) meet specific technical and quality standards, in order to safeguard the safety and rights of consumers.
GCC certification is a mandatory certification system. The regulation BD-142004-01 was fully implemented on July 1, 2016, and since January 1, 2017, low-voltage electronic and electrical equipment and appliances that have been certified in local production or imported into the country’s market in the Gulf countries must be marked with the G logo, along with a QR code and the issuing institution number.
Applicable to various types of products, including but not limited to electronic products, household appliances, cosmetics, toys, food and beverages, etc. The products need to undergo a series of tests, evaluations and audits to ensure they meet the requirements of the GCC standards. These standards may include requirements regarding product quality, safety, sustainability, environmental protection, etc.
